The "International Symposium on the Geostrategy and Legacy of Sultan Abdülhamid II" was organized in our university. Organized by Institute for Eastern and African Studies, Social Sciences University of Ankara, “The International Symposium on the Geostrategy and Legacy of Sultan Abdülhamid II” was attended by leading experts from Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Nigeria and Kosovo.

The symposium, which was held publicly in the historic Sumerbank building in Ulus, commenced with the opening speeches of Prof. Dr. Enver Arpa, Director of the ASBU Institute for Eastern and African Studies (DOAF) and Prof. Dr. Mehmet Barca, the Rector.

The symposium continued with the opening session addressed by Prof. Dr. İhsan Süreyya Sırma's “Sultan Abdulhamid’in İslam Birliği Siyaseti “. The symposium was held in five different sessions for two days and Sultan Abdulhamid II was threated  in terms of politics and economic policies, etc.
