On 8^th January 2024 Monday, as part of the ASBU Institute for Area Studies Seminars,  “History of Sri Lanka-Türkiye Relations” seminar was held in Sezai Karakoç Hall. 

In the seminar, Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Türkiye Hasanthi Urugodawatte Dissanayake and Türkiye's Ambassador to Sri Lanka and Maldives R. Demet Şekercioğlu made opening speeches. After the opening speeches, ASBU Institute for Area Studies department member Dr. Zeynep Tuba Sungur After the opening speeches, ASBU Institute for Area Studies department member Dr. Zeynep Tuba Sungur moderated the seminar and Zameer Careem presented his talk entitled “History of Sri Lanka-Türkiye Relations”. In the seminar, Türkiye-Sri Lanka relations were evaluated from a historical perspective.
