Prof. Dr. Musa Kazım ARICAN was born in 1970 in Dörtyol, Hatay. He completed primary school in the town of Karakese, high school in Dörtyol, and completed his university education at Ankara University in 1994.
In 1994, he worked as a teacher in Diyarbakır Ergani for one year, and in 1995 he started his academic career as a Research Assistant at Sivas Cumhuriyet University. After completing his doctorate with the thesis "Spinoza's Understanding of God", he became associate professor in 2010 and professor in 2015.
Until the end of 2011, he had worked at Sivas Cumhuriyet University and continued his academic life at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University as of 2012. Since February 28, 2020, he has been serving as the Rector of Social Sciences University of Ankara.
In 2016, ARICAN was elected as the President of the Writers' Union of Türkiye and has held this position for five terms. He is the Deputy President of the "TURKSOY Writers' Union", which was established within the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and has "International" status. He is married and the father of three children.
