Our Rector Prof. Mehmet Barca held a meeting with the academicians in the Sümerbank building, 5th Floor and informed them all about the process our university has gone through so far and about the development plan especially for the next three years. Prof. Barca emphasized the fact that the phase of "establishment and growth" has come to an end and our university is embracing the "institutionalisation and maturity" process after six years of its establishment. He mentioned the importance of professionalisation and gaining a corporate structure and identity in order not to be exposed to a state of chaos in case of changes at any level of administration. Furthermore, Prof. Barca mentioned "internationalisation, globalisation and being a part of the competititve environment" as the main targets for the next three years.

Prof. Barca stated that ASBU will maintain the educational approach based on the mission of raising "researchers and entrepreneurs" who produce and make use of the information rather than just give information. He emphasized the fact that our university is mainly graduate education-oriented. Besides, Prof. Barca specified the need for a Career Center for the students who will become  juniors in 2019-2020 Academic Year and gave the good news about its establishment for next year. He  also mentioned the Sociocity and the Museum Quarter projects. Additionally, Prof. Barca mentioned the fact that 30% of the students enrolled in graduate and undergraduate programs are international students. Finally, Prof.Barca stated that the educational strategy of our university is based on interdisciplinarity, which leads to the development of holistic view in Social Sciences.
