On January 4, 2022 as part of the ASBU Institute for Area Studies Seminars, Dr. Özdemir Sarıgil presented her talk entitled "The European Union as a Mediator in the Resolution of International Disputes in the Balkans and Its Effectiveness Dynamics". Seminar was held online. 

In her presentation Burcu Özdemir Sarıgil evaluated the impact of Europen Union as a mediator in conflict resolution process between countries. In her study she especially investigated Balkan countries with comperative case study and evaluated the impact of the European Union as a mediator in this process.
