On February 25th, 2022, Friday as part of the ASBU GAUM Friday Webinar Series, Dr. Esra Demirkol Colosio from Çankırı Karatekin University Department of Sociology presented her talk entitled "Family means everything, together or not: Transnational Migrant Families in the Context of Turkey-Japan Immigration". Webinar was held online via zoom in English.
Esra Demirkol Colosio graduated from Sociology (BA) and Social Anthropology (MSc) from METU. She received her PhD from the University of Sussex, Sociology Department in 2020. Her PhD thesis was on transnational familyhood constructed by Turkish immigrants in Japan and their stayed-behind families in Turkey.
In the webinar which hosted by Prof. Şebnem Akçapar, Dr. Esra Demirkol Colosio explained Turkey-Japan immigration, family migration and transnationalism.
