The fifth event of the webinar series organized by the ASBU Global Migration Studies Application and Research Center (ASBU GAUM) was held on Friday, December 17, 2021. In the webinar, Dr. Kamel Dorai presented his talk entitled "From Palestinian to Syrian Refugees: Policy Making in Jordan & Lebanon".

Dr. Kamel Doraï is geographer and researcher at the CNRS (the French National Centre for Scientific Research), University of Poitiers (France). Dr. Dorai works mainly on asylum and refugees in the Middle East. He is currently conducting research on Syrian and Palestinian refugees from Syria in Jordan and Lebanon. 

Dr. Dorai started his presentation with the role of refugees in state building. He also explained the conflicts and mass displacement in this context. In his presentation, Dr. Dorai, also exemplified the world's largest camp for Syrian refugees, the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan. The webinar was ended after the questions and comments of the participants.
