Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erkin EKREM; was born in Lanzhou, China on 21 Jan. 1964 and he studied in Lanzhou till high school. He had his undergradute degree from Xinjiang College of Chinese Traditional Medicine between the years of 1981 and 1986. Following that, he worked as a surgeon in the department of orthopedics at İli Provincial Hospital during 1986 and 1991. Erkin Ekrem took up his residence in Turkey in 1991, and, had his masters degree at Hacettepe University, in the Department of History between 1993 and 1995. In the same department, he had his doctorate degree in 2003. Erkin Ekrem is an associate professor in the Department of History at Hacettepe University and has been working there since 1999. Furthermore, he works at think tank institutions as an expert on Central Asia and the Far East since 1999.
