Prof. Dr. Himmet Umunç earned his Ph.D. on English Renaissance Poetry (Edmund Spenser) at the University of London (King’s College). His research interests include British literature, American literature, literary theory and criticism, cultural studies and comparative literature.
About the Seminar: This talk aims to explore the Renaissance period. The talk will focus on discussing tragedy as a significant literary genre during the signified period, and its evolution especially in the light of such prominent playwrights as Marlowe and Shakespeare.
