On December 12, 2021 as part of the ASBU GAUM Friday Webinar Series, Dr. Heba Gowayed's "Refuge" book lauch event was held.

Heba Gowayed spent three years documenting the journeys of Syrian families from similar economic and social backgrounds during the crucial early years of their asylum in the United States, Canada and Germany.

At the "Refuge" book launch event, Dr. Gowayed examined how the three countries focusing on the human experience of displacement have structured the potential of refugees.
