(Karol Wasilewski is an Analyst in the Middle East and Africa programme at the Polish Institute of International Affairs in Warsaw, where he covers Turkish politics. He is the author of ‘Turkey’s European Dream. Western Identity and its Influence on the Foreign Policy of the Republic of Turkey’. Former Turkey Expert (2014-2016) and President (2016) of the Centre for International Initiatives in Warsaw. He is a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies (University of Warsaw). He graduated from the Institute of International Relations at the University of Warsaw (specialization – Modern Diplomacy) and the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Warsaw (specialization – Turkology).
